A School Built Around How People Actually Learn
Synapta was founded in Chiang Mai with a straightforward idea: AI development skills should be learnable by anyone who is willing to put in the work, not just those with computer science degrees or prior coding experience.
Back to HomeHow Synapta Came Together
Synapta started in 2020 when a small group of developers and educators in Chiang Mai noticed a consistent problem. Plenty of people wanted to learn AI and machine learning, but most of the available material either assumed too much background knowledge or stayed too abstract to be useful in practice. The result was that a lot of motivated learners got stuck early and gave up.
The founding team had a different idea. Rather than trying to compress university-level content into short videos, they designed courses around the way working developers actually build things: step by step, with real feedback, and with an emphasis on understanding what you are doing rather than copying patterns you cannot explain.
The school opened its first cohort with a single course and a small online community. Over the following years, the curriculum grew in response to what learners actually asked for. The Mentored AI Program came from requests for more direct support. The Project-Based ML Track was shaped by feedback from people who found the starter course too short but were not ready for mentoring.
Today, Synapta serves learners from across Thailand and the wider region. The approach has stayed the same: small steps that build on each other, projects you can actually show someone, and people you can ask when you get stuck.
Our Mission
To make structured AI development education accessible and understandable for learners in Thailand and Southeast Asia, regardless of their starting point.
Our Vision
A future where anyone with dedication and curiosity can develop real AI skills and contribute meaningfully to the growing field of machine learning and data-driven development.
Our Team
Each member of the Synapta team brings a combination of practical development experience and a genuine interest in how people learn.
Kanya Prachit
Curriculum LeadKanya designs the learning paths and writes most of the course content. She spent several years working on NLP projects before shifting focus to education.
Tanawat Naka
Lead MentorTanawat leads the mentoring program and handles most of the code reviews. He has a background in ML engineering and takes a straightforward, practical approach to teaching.
Siriwan Lao
Community ManagerSiriwan keeps the learner community active and welcoming. She also coordinates workshops and handles most learner communications across all three programs.
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
These are the commitments that shape every course, review, and interaction at Synapta.
Structured Progression
Every course is reviewed to ensure that skills build on each other in a logical order. Learners always know what they are working toward and why.
Honest Assessment
Code reviews are specific and constructive. We point to what works, explain what could be improved, and suggest a clear next step rather than leaving learners to guess.
Data Privacy
Learner data is handled carefully. We collect only what is needed, store it securely, and do not share personal information with third parties for commercial purposes.
Regular Content Updates
AI development moves fast. We review course materials regularly and update them when the underlying tools, libraries, or practices change in meaningful ways.
Accessible Support
Questions get real answers from people who have worked in the field. Learners are not directed to FAQ pages when they have a specific problem to solve.
Transparent Pricing
Course fees are listed clearly. There are no hidden costs, upsells at key moments, or pressure to purchase additional materials to complete the curriculum.
What Guides Our Teaching
Synapta focuses on the practical side of AI development. This means that courses emphasise writing working code, understanding what it does, and knowing how to debug and improve it. Conceptual understanding matters, but it develops through doing rather than through lengthy reading before any coding begins.
We work with a small number of active learners at any one time in the Mentored AI Program. This keeps the feedback meaningful and the workshops genuinely interactive. It also means our mentors have time to respond thoughtfully rather than quickly and generically.
The Project-Based ML Track and AI Starter Course are self-paced, which suits learners who have other commitments or who prefer to move at their own speed. Materials stay available for the full duration of enrolment, and the community remains a resource throughout.
Chiang Mai has become a notable technology and creative hub in Thailand, and Synapta reflects that environment. We draw on a network of local and regional practitioners, which keeps course content grounded in how AI development actually works in the field rather than how it is described in academic literature.
